I have been in an M.Ed. program for the last 2 years. It has been a long and arduous journey, mainly because this being an online program, I miss out on the face-to-face interactions with my teachers and classmates. I have been fortunate that I get to meet them in person every summer when I visit the university for a month-long compact courses. Then I am headed back to my city to finish the practicum part of my course work, which takes a semester's observation, field work and final child study or a semester report.

After the first semester, one gets used to the rigor and it gets easier. Now I am at the last leg of my program, and it seems like I am beginning to lose my mojo. When the light at the end of the tunnel is in sight, the going is getting difficult. Being a mother of two children below seven makes it harder because their time with me is limited and they want my attention specially when I need to finish my work. But I believe this struggle is giving me the practice I need to manage a teacher's life later on in life. It is emotionally challenging, physically exhausting and spiritually depleting. However, I am holding on to the hope that it will all be worth it in the end.

My internship in Fall hinges on my getting 7 endorsement courses done before July. I am currently enrolled in 3 online courses and planning on testing out of 4 others. What that means is getting deep into my world of books and assignments and no-human interaction. I think I can handle all this, with lots of solid luck and a head focussed on only one thing - my internship.
